Awards
At Jefferson, we believe in developing well-rounded students who demonstrate academic achievement, positive character, leadership, citizenship, perseverance, and a commitment to learning. Throughout the school year, students may be recognized for a variety of accomplishments, including academic excellence, growth and improvement, attendance, citizenship, leadership, and embodying our school values. These awards celebrate the unique strengths and contributions of our students while encouraging them to strive for their personal best both inside and outside the classroom.
Student Academic Recognition Grades 1st-6th
Stellar Jay
Presented to two students from each class that demonstrate our school motto of “Try Hard and Never Quit”. These students give exemplary effort towards any task. The student cannot have any referrals or suspensions, no more than 3 unexcused absences and no D’s or F’s.
Behavior Award (SOAR)
This award is given to two student that is an example of being safe, respectful and responsible.
Author of the Semester (2nd-4th Grade)
Presented to a student who has shown significant growth in writing or consistently is a successful writer.
iReady Rockstar (1st Grade)
Presented to students who have reached their typical growth goal. (Semester 1: 50%, Semester 2: 100%)

**To receive the award students must have the point and an overall average score of 70% or higher**
Ending Date are as follows
1st Semester STAR Reader: January 15, 2027
2nd Semester STAR Reader & Reading Medallion: May 21, 2027
Students earn points by taking quizzes on books at their instructional reading level. Students who earn the STAR reader award will be recognized at semester awards. In order to win the reading medallion, students must earn the STAR reader award both semesters.
Honor Roll
The Honor Roll is a means of giving recognition to students based on scholastic achievement. Honor Roll students are recognized each semester at the awards assembly. The qualification requirements for the Honor Roll are:
- No D’s or F’s on the report card.
- No N’s or U’s on the report card.
- The following grade point averages:
- PRINCIPAL’S HONOR ROLL: 4.00
- HIGH HONOR ROLL: 3.5-3.99
- HONOR ROLL: 3.00-3.49
- The following grade points are used to calculate the grade point aver: A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1
Block J (4th-6th Grade)
The Block J Award is the highest award a student may earn. Students in grades 4-6 are eligible for this award. The criteria for earning this award reflect a broad base of participation, achievement, and service. In order to earn Block J, a student must accrue points in the following areas:
